The Atlantic Immigration Pilot is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and international graduates who want to work and live in one of Canada’s 4 Atlantic Provinces
There are 3 programs in the pilot that employers can hire you through. You may qualify for more than 1 program, but you can only apply through one.
Ø Atlantic International graduate
Ø Atlantic high skilled
Ø Atlantic intermediate skilled
For all 3 programs, you must show proof that you meet the language (CLB 4), education (ECA) and work experience requirements (1 year) and that you have enough money to support you and your family when you come to Canada.
You can move to Canada with your family with an open work permit
You must receive a job offer from a designated employer in Atlantic Canada to participate in the pilot.
Ø If you receive a job offer from an employer:
Ø Ask for a copy of the employer’s Confirmation of Designation, or
Ø Tell them about the Atlantic Immigration Pilot and ask them to consider becoming designated, if they aren’t already
Ø Your spouse or common-law partner can apply for an open work permit
Ø You can apply for a work permit while waiting for your permanent residence decision
Ø Processing time is 6months
